Summary

We are looking for a results-driven and highly analytical Business Analyst to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for turning complex data into actionable insights, with a primary focus on revenue analysis, but also extending to other key business metrics. You will be an expert in using Google Sheets to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and draw meaningful takeaways that inform business decisions. Once the analysis is complete, you will report on your findings and present them in a clear, impactful format to the team, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals. Key Responsibilities

  • Revenue Analysis & Reporting: Lead the analysis of revenue data to identify trends and opportunities. Track key metrics and KPIs, ensuring the accuracy of revenue reporting and providing actionable insights to leadership.
  • Data Insights & Takeaways: Analyze large datasets to uncover insights that will guide business decisions. You’ll identify key patterns and generate takeaways that drive improvements in revenue performance and operational efficiency.
  • Spreadsheet Mastery: Utilize Google Sheets to manage, manipulate, and report on complex datasets. Build and maintain dynamic spreadsheets and models to support revenue forecasting, reporting, and ad-hoc analysis.
  • Forecasting & Budgeting Support: Assist with revenue forecasting and budget tracking by using data-driven insights to refine projections and ensure alignment with company goals.
  • Reporting Automation & Streamlining: Work on automating and streamlining reporting processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Create standardized templates and systems for ongoing revenue tracking and other key business data.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Present findings in a clear, concise format, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Effectively communicate data insights and ensure key stakeholders are informed and aligned on critical data points.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to improve data processes, reporting structures, and operational workflows. Implement improvements based on insights gained from data analysis.

Ideal Candidate

  • Education: A bachelor or master’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in an analytical role, such as data analysis, business analyst, business operations, is preferred.
  • Location: This is a remote position, though the ideal candidate will be located in or around the Greater Toronto Area for occasional in-person collaboration.
  • Google Sheets Expertise: Strong proficiency in Google Sheets, including advanced functions (e.g. VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, pivot tables), data visualization, and the ability to build and maintain complex models.
  • Analytical Mindset: A natural ability to analyze data, identify trends, and extract actionable insights that drive business decisions. Experience working with large datasets and turning them into valuable, understandable reports.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous and detail-oriented when it comes to working with data, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all aspects of the role.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly present complex data and insights in a simple, actionable format for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills to develop insights and identify opportunities for process improvements based on data.
  • Team Player: Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively across teams and departments. A willingness to take feedback and continuously improve.
